Road Closures for the 2026 Cambridge 5k and Half Marathon October 31 - November 1

Expect road closures and traffic impacts on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 due to the Cambridge Half Marathon and 5K.

5k Road Closures: Saturday, October 31

The 5K race begins and ends at CambridgeSide in East Cambridge. Beginning at 10 a.m., participants will travel along Edwin H. Land Boulevard and Memorial Drive. Expect road closures in the area between 6:30 a.m. and noon on Saturday, October 31.

The following roads will close during the event:

Closures along the race route:

  • Land Boulevard (from Binney Street to Memorial Drive): 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Memorial Drive - eastbound and westbound (from Land Boulevard to BU Bridge): 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Closures between First Street and Second Street near CambridgeSide :

  • Otis Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Thorndike Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Spring Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Charles Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Bent Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Rogers Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Binney Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Linskey Way (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

  • Athenaeum Street (from Second Street to First Street): 7 a.m. to noon

Half Marathon Road Closures: Sunday, November 1

The Half Marathon will begin and end on Edwin H. Land Boulevard in East Cambridge this year. Beginning at 7 a.m., participants will travel west along Memorial Drive toward West Cambridge before returning along the Charles River.

Due to the updated race route, road closures will differ from previous years. Expect road closures beginning at 5 a.m., with roads anticipated to reopen by 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 1.

The following roads will close during the event:

Closures along the race route:

  • Edwin H. Land Boulevard (from McGrath Highway to Memorial Drive): 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • Memorial Drive - eastbound and westbound (along the race route toward Gerry's Landing Road): 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • Rogers Street (from First Street to Land Boulevard): 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
