Forsyth County Board of Commissioners to Hold Memorial Road Dedication Ceremony in Honor of Spc. Zachary Steele

Forsyth County will hold a memorial road dedication ceremony in honor of Spc. Zachary Steele at 11 a.m. on April 20 at the intersection of Aquatic Circle, Bronze Oak Way and Pilgrim Mill Road to dedicate a portion of Pilgrim Mill Road as the "SPC Zachary Evan Steele Memorial Road," honoring the life and service of lifelong Forsyth County resident Spc. Zachary Steele, who passed away on July 22, 2025, in a car accident while on active duty.

The designated roadway will extend from the intersection of Bronze Oak Way and Aquatic Circle to Pilgrim Lake Drive.

Steele was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and served in the Georgia Army National Guard. During his military service, he earned numerous accolades, including the Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Medal and the Georgia National Guard Recruiting Ribbon.

The memorial road designation will serve as a lasting tribute to Spc. Steele's service, sacrifice and the impact he made on his community. Residents and community members are invited to attend the ceremony and join in honoring his life and legacy.
