Washington, D.C.--Eleven interns joined U.S. Senator Mike Crapo's (R-Idaho) Washington, D.C., and state offices for the spring and summer 2026 terms.
"The young individuals joining my office for the summer term will gain firsthand experience during pivotal moments in Congress," said Crapo. "They will actively engage with Idaho's constituents, deepen their knowledge of the federal policymaking process and build essential professional skills for their future careers. It is a pleasure to welcome this talented group to the team, and I look forward to watching them succeed."
Five interns will serve in the Washington, D.C., office:

David Favero is a political science and pre-law student at Brigham Young University. His goal as an intern is to gain a better understanding of the legislative process and Constitutional law.

Blake Lindemann is currently studying political science, Hispanic studies and environmental economics and public policy at Montana State University. He hopes one day to work in environmental law to help clients harmed by environmental negligence.

Judianne Kunst is a senior at Brigham Young University majoring in English. Her goal for her internship is to gain firsthand experience with the legislative process and learn how to become a political speechwriter.

Jaden Howard recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a degree in social studies education. He is eager to learn more about the legislative process and plans to attend law school.

Isabelle Monk is a senior at the University of Idaho pursuing a double major in marketing and public relations. Her goal is to challenge herself with new experiences in the hopes of growing both professionally and personally.
Two interns will serve in the Boise office:

Ava Evaro is a sophomore at Arizona State University currently studying political science. She will soon begin coursework to obtain a master's degree in public policy in the future.

Ellen Petersen recently graduated from Boise State University with a degree in sociology and a minor in legal studies. She hopes to further her studies by pursuing a law degree.
Three interns will serve in the Lewiston office:

Autum Martinez is a senior at Lewis-Clark State College majoring in justice studies with a pre-law minor. She plans on attending law school next year.

Katherine Maisch is a sophomore at Lewis-Clark State College. She is currently majoring in political science with minors in Spanish and environmental and behavioral science.

Tristan Hoffman is a student at Lewis-Clark State College pursuing a history major, with minors in Spanish and Communications. He gained new insight into this side of government and enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people.
One intern will serve in the Idaho Falls office:

Cooper Mitchell is a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he is studying public policy and administration. His long-term goal after graduation is to serve and represent the state of Idaho in Congress.
Crapo hosts interns in his Washington, D.C., office as well as in the various regional offices throughout Idaho. The application deadline for the spring 2027 term is October 15, 2026.
