Rochester Public Music will welcome Tuvergen Band to the historic Chateau Theatre on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 7 p.m. This concert is part of the Sound School program and tickets are now on sale through the Rochester Public Music website.
Tuvergen Band, which means "galloping" in Mongolian, is a Chicago-based folk-fusion trio that calls its sound "modern nomadic music." Brothers Tamir and Naizal Hargana from Inner Mongolia, and percussionist Brent Roman, combine Mongolian and Tuvan music with bluegrass, blues, and rock. Their performances include the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), throat singing, global percussion, and didgeridoo.
During the week of November 17, Tuvergen Band will visit public schools in Rochester to lead workshops and performances for students. These visits are part of the Sound School program, which brings professional musicians into classrooms for hands-on learning, cultural exchange, and musical exploration. The residency ends with the public concert at the Chateau Theatre, where the community can enjoy the same exciting music and cultural experience.
