Buckeye police arrest brothers for organized retail theft

BUCKEYE, AZ (January 6, 2026): Buckeye police arrested two brothers in connection to multiple high-dollar thefts from local Auto Zone stores over the course of a week.

On three separate occasions from December 29, 2025 through January 2, 2026, the same man was reported entering the Auto Zone locations on Watson Rd and Indian School Rd, stealing tools and leaving in a black Volvo SUV that did not have a license plate. Officers with the Impact Team used resources from the Real Time Information Center to locate a vehicle that had been seen near the stores around the time of the thefts and had the same unique features with a mounted license plate. The plate number was entered into a database as part of the ongoing investigation.

On January 3, 2026, Buckeye police received an alert from a license plate reader that the suspect vehicle had entered the city. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Mark Perez, 32-years-old, was identified as the man who had entered the stores to steal the merchandise. His brother, 28-year-old Alan Perez, was identified as the getaway driver. Both were arrested and booked on theft and drug charges.
