Volunteers needed for full-scale disaster exercise at Juneau International Airport

The Juneau International Airport (JIA) seeks nearly 100 volunteers for a full-scale emergency disaster drill on Saturday, July 26. Volunteer participation in this simulated disaster exercise is critical for JIA, first responders and partner agencies to effectively prepare for the event of a potential aircraft emergency.

The outdoor exercise will take place from 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Juneau International Airport. Volunteers must attend an informational briefing on Friday, July 25 at 5 p.m. to participate in the live exercise the following day.

Volunteers are needed for the following roles:

  • Role playing of injured passengers, distraught family members & other bystanders
  • Make-up artists
  • Event support
