Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday morning in Seattle's SODO neighborhood.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. on April 6, Seattle Police responded to a call from the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) about an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest at the transit platform in the 500 block of South Royal Brougham Way. Officers, along with KCSO deputies, provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The victim, who approached KCSO deputies alone, could not provide a specific location for the shooting. Officers canvassed a large area based on the victim's statements and reports of additional disturbances but did not locate a crime scene. No suspect is in custody.
Detectives with the Gang Violent Reduction Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
