Michael J. Wallace Joins Confluent as Public Sector GM

Confluent is pleased to welcome Michael J. Wallace as the new General Manager, Public Sector.

Mike is an executive with over 25 years of experience leading technology sales and engineering teams for organizations focused on data in cybersecurity, data governance, and data management. Mike has served in a variety of roles within the Information Technology space, most recently serving as President, US Public Sector, at Varonis. He was responsible for driving growth, delivering exceptional customer experience, and building strong partnerships.

Prior to joining Varonis, Mike worked in leadership positions at a number of outstanding companies focused on the Public Sector, including NetApp, Splunk, and MemSQL.

As GM, Mike will continue to grow Confluent's footprint with government customers, providing a way to advance digital government initiatives by better utilizing data within Confluent's data streaming platform.

"Data is one thing that the government has an abundance of, however it lacks mission value if you cannot access it, and use it in a timely manner," comments Mike. "I am thrilled to be joining Confluent to help expand the use of data streaming to help our customers meet their missions."

As an enterprise data-in-motion platform with open-source Apache Kafka at its core, Confluent enables governments to treat data as a continually updating stream of events, rather than static snapshots in time-supporting efforts to advance national defense, elevate cybersecurity, foster connectivity, and embrace AI. The Confluent platform ensures data integrity, enabling agencies to govern their data with confidence, and modernize mission-critical programs.

"Mike's customer-centric leadership makes him a great fit for this critical executive role at Confluent. I'm looking forward to partnering with Mike as we enable government agencies to leverage data streaming for direct mission impact." - Erica Schultz, President of Field Operations at Confluent.
