Secretary-General of ASEAN delivers remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Digital Government Forum 2025
Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this morning delivered remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Digital Government Forum 2025, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Forum was officiated by H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In his address, Dr. Kao highlighted that effective e-government services form the essential foundation and driving force for broader digital transformation across the region. He further emphasised the importance of continuously harnessing ASEAN's growing digital economy to strengthen national competitiveness, stimulate innovation, and enhance productivity, while underscoring the need for a whole-of-region approach to address the evolving cybersecurity risks posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging digital technologies.
