Landmark Merger Unites Two Custom Closet Industry Leaders

Saint Louis Closet Co. and the Artisan Family of Brands Combine to Form One of the Nation's Largest Independent Custom Storage Organizations

Merger of equals brings together seven brands, eight showrooms, and four manufacturing facilities across the Midwest and Southeast

ST. LOUIS and ATLANTA - Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026 - Saint Louis Closet Co., the premier provider of custom storage and organization solutions in St. Louis since 1991, and the Artisan Family of Brands, the Atlanta-based network of custom closet companies that has become one of the fastest-growing platforms in the industry, today announced a landmark merger that unites two of the most respected names in custom storage. The combined organization is one of the largest independently owned custom closet organizations in the country, with seven brands, eight showrooms, four manufacturing facilities, and more than 200 employees serving homeowners across six states.

Founded by Jennifer Q. Williams in 1991, Saint Louis Closet Co. has been the defining name in custom storage in the St. Louis market for more than three decades, earning a reputation for exceptional quality, thoughtful design and 100% customer service. The company designs, manufactures, and installs custom closets, pantries, garages, Murphy beds, and more, managing the entire process in-house from its 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and flagship showroom.

The Artisan Family of Brands has grown from a single Atlanta workshop into one of the Southeast's leading custom storage platforms, completing five acquisitions since 2023. Its brands-Artisan Custom Closets, SpaceMakers, Carolina Closets, Carolina Closets Plus, Queen City Closets and Chattanooga Closet Company-serve homeowners across Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee. Together, the two organizations span seven companies and a footprint that reaches from the Southeast into the Midwest.

The custom closet industry remains highly fragmented, with hundreds of local operators competing alongside a small number of national franchise systems. The merger creates a new kind of alternative in the industry: an organization that combines the scale, purchasing power and shared manufacturing expertise of a national company with the craftsmanship, local relationships and personal accountability of founder-built brands. The combined company expects to continue expanding through both organic growth and additional acquisitions in new markets.

As part of the merger, Saint Louis Closet Co.'s flagship St. Louis showroom and manufacturing plant will serve as the combined organization's Midwest headquarters alongside its Southeast headquarters in Atlanta, providing a launchpad for expansion across the Midwest. Saint Louis Closet Co. will continue operating under its own name, preserving the local identity, team and relationships that have made it the market leader in St. Louis.

Jennifer Q. Williams will serve as Chairperson of the combined organization's Board of Directors. Saint Louis Closet Co.'s local leadership team, including Vice President Angelia York and Vice President of Operations Matthew M. Williams, will continue to lead day-to-day operations and the customer experience in St. Louis.

"This merger marks a defining moment for our company and for the custom closet industry," said Jennifer Q. Williams, Founder of Saint Louis Closet Co. "Since 1991, I have been passionate about delivering an exceptional product, thoughtful design, and 100% customer service. Our success has always been driven by our people: their talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence. By combining with the Artisan Family of Brands, we are building on that legacy while creating something even bigger: an organization with the scale, talent and vision to help shape the next chapter of our industry, while continuing to serve the St. Louis community that has supported us for 35 years."

"This is the most significant step in Artisan's history," said Jim Bojko, CEO of Artisan Custom Closets. "Jennifer and her team have built the most respected custom closet company in the Midwest, and this is a true partnership of equals. Bringing our organizations together creates something that hasn't existed in this industry before: a multi-region organization with the scale, manufacturing depth, and purchasing power of a national player, built on independently run local brands that know their markets. St. Louis gives the combined company a powerful foundation in a new region, and this is only the beginning. Together we intend to build the premier custom storage organization in the country, and we welcome conversations with other great owner-led companies who share that vision."
