Rapid Response Feedback Report: Senate Farm Bill Stalled in Committee!

In the days leading up to the Senate Agriculture Committee's vote on the Farm Bill 2.0, USW members across the country contacted their Senators and spoke out against a bill that would harm working families and put good union jobs at risk. Because of your action, on August 6, the Senate Agriculture Committee voted 10 to 11 against moving Farm Bill 2.0 forward. Below is a list of how Senators voted.

The Farm Bill 2.0 would have kept harmful SNAP cuts in place, reducing food assistance and impacting demand for products made by USW members throughout the food manufacturing and packaging supply chain. It also included changes to E15 and the Renewable Fuel Standard that could increase costs for some USW-represented refineries.

But we're not done. The Farm Bill could come back in the coming weeks as Senators continue negotiations. We will continue to make our voices heard and fight for a Farm Bill that protects working families and good union jobs.
