The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize the State of Palestine, as an expression of France's commitment

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize the State of Palestine, as an expression of France's commitment to international law and to resolving the conflict through political means, in line with the two-state solution and relevant UN resolutions, in order to achieve peace in the region.

The Ministry expresses its sincere appreciation to President Macron and the friendly Republic of France; its government and people, for this historic decision, reaffirmed in the President's response to the letter of President Mahmoud Abbas. The Ministry also calls on other countries to recognize the State of Palestine and urges the international community to actively support the two-state solution at the upcoming UN conference in New York.

The Ministry considers this decision a victory for the diplomacy led by President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as for the efforts of friendly Arab countries in supporting the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in securing broader international recognition of the State of Palestine.
