Micro Surfacing Street Project Begins on South Yale Avenue, 61st to 71st Streets

9/1/2026

Project Expected to Be Complete by End of Week

A brief microsurfacing street project on S. Yale Ave. from 61st to 71st Streets started today and is expected to last through the end of the week.

The project will refresh this portion of S. Yale Ave. as crews apply a quick-curing sealant over the current asphalt to allow the road to open to all lanes of traffic by the end of the week, with permanent lane striping expected to be complete by the middle of next week.

While some lanes will narrow, S. Yale Ave. will remain open for the duration of the project.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and follow all posted traffic control devices.
