VHB has earned two healthcare project awards from the Association of Medical Facility Professionals Greater New York (AMFP GNY). The annual awards program recognizes excellence in healthcare facility design, outpatient care, and infrastructure.
VHB was recognized as part of the project teams for NewYork-Presbyterian's The One in White Plains and Catholic Health's Good Samaritan University Hospital Patient Care Pavilion in West Islip. Together, these transformative projects are expanding access to care, enhancing patient-centered care environments, and strengthening critical infrastructure across New York.
The One transforms a former 26-acre corporate campus into a modern, multi-specialty outpatient care destination, consolidating more than 90 adult and pediatric services in a community-based setting for Westchester County and the greater New York metro area. VHB supported the project through civil engineering, land surveying, traffic analysis, stormwater management, and site planning services that enhanced accessibility, circulation, and overall campus functionality.
The Patient Care Pavilion expansion strengthens emergency, surgical, and inpatient care for Long Island's South Shore communities with a 75-bay Emergency Department, 16 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and three floors of modern single-occupancy patient rooms. VHB supported the project through site engineering, environmental review, permitting, traffic analysis, public outreach, utility coordination, and resilient design strategies to help deliver a modern healthcare facility built for evolving community needs.
"We're honored to have these two projects recognized by AMFP GNY and proud of the collaboration that brought them to life," said David Geller, Northeast Institutional Market Leader at VHB. "These awards reflect how thoughtful planning, integrated design and trusted partnerships help create resilient, patient-centered environments that support the communities they serve."
Congratulations to NewYork-Presbyterian, Catholic Health, the project teams, and all this year's AMFP GNY award winners.
