DOH AUTHORIZES REOPENING OF HA LONG PHO NOODLE BAR AFTER ISSUING RED PLACARD

HONOLULU - The Hawai'i Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch (FSB) authorized the reopening of Ha Long Pho Noodle Bar located at 1414 Dillingham Blvd. on Sept. 17.

The establishment received the red placard on Sep. 16 for multiple violations and was immediately closed. Inspectors conducted a follow-up inspection on Sep. 17 and found all critical violations have been corrected.

The follow-up inspection confirmed the following:

• Time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods were held at 41 F or below
• Handwashing sinks were accessible
• Food products were properly separated to prevent cross contamination
• Each item using time as a public health control were labeled with its four-hour discard date, no bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods was observed
• All food products were being cooled down correctly
• All ready-to-eat TCS foods were labeled with its seven-day discard date

The DOH FSB protects and promotes the health of Hawai'i residents and visitors through education of food industry workers and regulation of food establishments statewide. The branch conducts routine health inspections of food establishments where food products are prepared, manufactured, distributed, or sold.
