Lindenwood University's annual Halloween tradition returns to campus Friday, October 17, from 5- 9 p.m. Dark Carnival will transform the heritage side of campus into a celebration of the Lindenwood spirit.

As one of the University's longest-standing traditions, Dark Carnival invites the entire Lindenwood community to enjoy a night of games, rides, crafts, tricks, and treats. Hosted by the Advancement and Community Engagement team in partnership with Lindenwood Student Government and Residential Life, the event has evolved over the years to frighten and entertain guests of all ages. As is tradition, all Dark Carnival activities are free of charge, with food available for purchase.

This year, Dark Carnival will feature a Food Truck Graveyard haunted by favorites like SNS Goodies, Royal Treats, Flavor-licious, Travelin' Tom's, Beverly Ann's, Tasty Burger, Lyons Frozen Custard, and Hot Box Cookies. Guests are invited to decorate pumpkins in the pavilion, play games along Chummy Mummy Lane, brave a visit through the haunted house, and take part in a free Trunk or Treat from 5-6:15 p.m.

Author Nicki Jacobsmeyer will pay a visit to Warner Hall to share some of Lindenwood's spookiest stories. To cap off the party atmosphere, Clover, a high-energy cover band from St. Louis, will perform in the gazebo.

The University has once again partnered with O.A.S.I.S. Food Pantry, holding a canned food drive to support the St. Charles community. Guests who donate a nonperishable food item will receive an exclusive Dark Carnival t-shirt, while supplies last.

Coordinator of Special Events Lilliann Cheek '24 reflected on the event. "Dark Carnival is truly a wonderful celebration that brings our community together in a vibrant and unforgettable way," she said. "It's more than just an event; it's a cherished tradition that celebrates generations of the Lindenwood community."
