Recent surveys show that many Boomers and Gen Xers share similar retirement planning regrets, particularly around delaying financial decisions that could have strengthened their long-term security. CFP Board research, Lessons Learned: A Survey of American Gen Xers, found that nearly half of respondents believe financial mistakes have cost them at least $100,000 over their lifetimes, with many pointing to waiting too long to plan and save for retirement, missing years of potential investment growth and compounding.
