National Industrial Security System, Increment II (NI2) launches Jan. 30 to replace NCCS

QUANTICO, Va.- The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) announced that the National Industrial Security System (NISS) Increment 2 (NI2) officially launched on Jan. 30, 2026, replacing the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Contract Classification System (NCCS).

The migration marks a significant step in DCSA's efforts to modernize and streamline industrial security processes for government and industry users. NCCS - scheduled to sunset on Feb. 7 - will no longer be accessible after that date.

Starting today, users must access the new NI2 system via the following website: https://niss.dcsa.mil.

Industry and government users can register for NI2 by visiting the official NI2 webpage at https://www.dcsa.mil/Systems-Applications/NI2-National-Industrial-Security-System-Increment-2/. The webpage provides access to essential training materials, user guides, support, and login credentials for DCSA's portal, ensuring users have the resources needed to navigate the new system effectively.

The NI2 system is designed to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and facilitate information sharing across the Department of War and other federal agencies. By integrating existing workflows and emerging capabilities into a unified cloud environment, NI2 will provide a single, comprehensive platform equipped to meet the current and future needs of industrial security.

Impact on NCCS Users

All existing NCCS user accounts and data will be migrated automatically, eliminating the need for data re-creation. System functionality will remain similar to NCCS, with the primary change being the navigation to a new web address:

https://niss.dcsa.mil (Live on Jan. 30, 2026).

Training Materials and User Guides

To support the transition, DCSA developed comprehensive training materials and user guides for NI2. These resources will be available on the NI2 webpage upon its launch tomorrow, ensuring users have the tools they need to navigate the new system effectively.

Industry and government users are encouraged to review these materials to familiarize themselves with NI2's features and workflows. Training resources will include:

  • Step-by-step guides for accessing and using NI2.

  • Tutorials on navigating the new interface.

  • FAQs addressing common questions about the migration.

DCSA is committed to continuously improving the user experience and system performance as NI2 evolves. Planned enhancements encompass expanded features, interoperability and consolidations of systems.
