Best and Nau helped the Lions through a 2-2 weekend of non-conference play at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
In a loss against Columbia, Best had two hits from three at bats. In the Lions' loss against Pikeville, Best had one walk. In the Lions' 11-3 victory against Keystone, Best recorded one hit and one RBI. Throughout the weekend, Best went 6-for-10 with a double, a triple, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk in the first four games. Best also registered a .636 on-base percentage and a .900 slugging percentage on the week.
Nau started against Columbia and Keystone and pitched two complete games. She allowed just five earned runs and two walks while tallying seven strikeouts to go 1-1.
This is Nau's second Player of the Week award this season and the sixth of her collegiate career. This week's award is Best's first in her collegiate career.
