Washington County, OR- Today, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) announced that she has secured $1,531,000 in federal Community Project Funding for two critical local initiatives in Washington County and the City of Beaverton. These investments will enhance public safety infrastructure and support the ongoing operation of Beaverton's Behavioral Health Court, expanding access to treatment and recovery support for individuals with mental illness.

"Ensuring our communities are safe and that people living with mental illness can access the care they need are top priorities for me in Congress," said Rep. Salinas. "These funds deliver real support to local law enforcement and behavioral health services here at home, improving safety and strengthening services for people who need it most."

In Washington County, Rep. Salinas secured $1,031,000 to modernize patrol equipment for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, including upgraded in-car recording systems and advanced license plate reader technology. These improvements will enhance deputies' ability to quickly and accurately identify vehicles involved in critical incidents, such as AMBER Alerts and other emergency responses. Upgrading this technology will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement operations and improve overall public safety for residents of Washington County.

In Beaverton, Rep. Salinas secured $500,000 to support the continued operation of the Beaverton Behavioral Health Court, a specialized program serving individuals with mental illness by providing supervised treatment, stability services, and access to long-term recovery resources. The funding will help hire and retain key personnel and cover operational costs, including travel, procurement contracts, and necessary supplies. This funding ensures the program can continue its work bolstering community health and safety.

Rep. Salinas secured these funds through the federal appropriations process to support high-impact, community-driven projects that deliver direct benefits to Oregon families.
