Suspect arraigned in Macomb Township attempted shooting

Macomb Township, MI - Sunday, October 27, 2024, at approximately 4:43AM, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) was dispatched to the 46300 block of Gabriell Drive, Macomb Township, for report of shots fired. The suspect, Kevin Price, 21-years-old, from Clinton Township, was taken into custody without incident in Warren. He was transported to and lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

Three juvenile victims arrived by vehicle at the Gabriell address. Victim A, who resides at the address, approached the residence where a verbal altercation ensued between Victim A, family members and the suspect. Victims B and C remained outside the home.

Victim A returned to the vehicle where victims B and C were standing. The three victims allegedly observed Price remove a gun and ammunition from his clothing, before seeing him load and rack the firearm. The victims left the residence in their vehicle.

Price followed the victims onto Gabriell Drive in his vehicle. He pulled alongside the victims' vehicle. He pointed his gun out the window, directly at the victims, and fired two shots. The victims were able to accelerate and lose Price.

Price was arraigned October 29, 2024, in 41A District Court, Shelby Township, on charges of:

  • One count Weapons - Firearms - Discharge from Vehicle; a 10-year felony
  • One count Malicious Destruction of Personal Property - $1,000 or more but less than $20,000; a five-year felony
  • Three counts Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault); each a four-year felony
  • Four counts of Weapons Felony Firearm; each a consecutively served 2-year felony.

Magistrate Verploeg set bond at $500,000 cash/surety. A GPS tether and full home confinement are required upon release.
