Washington, D.C. - Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), the nation's largest public policy women's organization, strongly supports the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee's inclusion of a vital provision in the proposed reconciliation bill to halt the forced taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. This long-overdue measure ensures American families are no longer obligated to subsidize an industry that profits from the destruction of unborn lives, vulnerable children and the exploitation of women in crisis.

"With a Republican trifecta in government and the reconciliation process at hand, now is the time to seize this historic opportunity to end forced taxpayer funding of Big Abortion," said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC. "For too long, hardworking taxpayers have been compelled to bankroll organizations like Planned Parenthood, which performs hundreds of thousands of abortions annually while expanding into controversial practices like transgender procedures. This is not healthcare-it's completely contrary to the values of millions of Americans who believe in protecting life and supporting women with real solutions."

CWALAC emphasizes that redirecting public funds to community health centers offer a better path forward. These centers, vastly outnumbering abortion facilities (15-1), provide comprehensive care-including prenatal support, primary care, and preventive services-without ending unborn lives. By prioritizing these life-affirming options, Congress can ensure Medicaid recipients continue to access high-quality care that respects both women and their children.

"The abortion industry's reliance on taxpayer dollars is an injustice that must end," Nance continued. "With President Trump's leadership and a unified Republican Congress, we have a unique window to pass this historic reconciliation bill and deliver on the promise to protect life. Concerned Women for America LAC urges swift action to bring this measure to a vote on the House floor."

CWALAC stands with millions of women and families nationwide in calling for an end to the abortion industry's taxpayer-funded grip on our nation.
