The Youth Career Program (YCP) is back for another exciting year, offering valuable work experiences to local youth and providing businesses with a unique opportunity to support the next generation of professionals. The program, designed for Newport News residents aged 16-24, invites both returning and new businesses to become worksites and help mentor and guide youth into the workforce.

The YCP offers Newport News youth an opportunity to apply for paid work experiences in various city departments and local businesses, providing an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build essential skills for the future. It also offers businesses the chance to become partners by serving as worksites where young people can develop their skills, creating a sustainable pipeline of talented individuals for the local workforce.

"The Youth Career Program is a vital component of our Youth T.H.R.I.V.E initiative announced last year," said Mayor Phillip Jones.
