Summer is a time for renewal and connection. This season, the Defence Community Support and Resource Centre (DCSRC) (formerly known as the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC)) is offering a range of summer peer support activities in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) for people affected by sexual misconduct.
These activities provide confidential spaces for participants to connect with others who have shared lived experiences, share at their own comfort level, and build coping skills.
Trauma informed yoga
Free, online sessions designed to support grounding and body awareness. Classes are:
New Yoga Flow for beginners starting July 2026
An introductory series focused on simple movements, steady pacing, and accessible instruction. Participants can adapt movements as needed.
Virtual Coffee Chats Summer Series
Informal peer support sessions where participants can talk or just listen. Sessions are:
Learning Together peer support groups
Structured groups that combine learning with peer support giving participants a chance to grow, heal, and support one another. Groups are:
Seasonal activities and special events
In addition to ongoing peer support activities, the Peer Support Program is offering seasonal workshops and special events throughout the year to help participants connect, slow down, and focus on their well being in a supportive group setting, including:
