House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Criminal Post-Conviction Litigation to Hold Second Meeting in Elijay

ATLANTA - The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Criminal Post-Conviction Litigation, chaired by State Representative Stan Gunter (R-Blairsville), will hold its second meeting on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Gilmer County Courthouse in Elijay, Ga.

During the meeting, study committee members will discuss and hear from stakeholders about solutions to issues with ineffective assistance of counsel claims.

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Criminal Post-Conviction Litigation will examine Georgia's post-conviction legal framework to protect constitutional rights, reduce delays and improve the efficiency of the state's justice system.
