Ventura, Calif. - The Ventura Earth Day Festival returns on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Plaza Park on East Thompson Street. This year's theme, "Healthy Planet, Healthy People!" highlights the connection between environmental health and human well-being. Community members are invited to attend this free, family-friendly event and volunteer to help.

Opening Blessing: Chumash elder Julie Tumamait-Stenslie will honor the cultural history of the land.

Keynote Speaker: Ventura Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios will speak on the City's vision for a sustainable future.

Live Performances: Enjoy music and dance from Mariachi & Ballet Folklórico, the Cabrillo Middle School Jazz Band, and Kalpulli Huitzilin Ihuan Xochitl.

Kids' Zone & Free Bike Valet: Family-friendly activities and secure bike parking.
In addition, the City's Environmental Sustainability Division will launch its Zero Waste Ambassador Program at the event and is searching for volunteers. Volunteers will guide attendees in sorting compost, recycling, and landfill waste, promoting sustainable habits. Volunteers can sign-upfor shifts between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with training provided.
"Events like the Ventura Earth Day Festival give our community a chance to come together, celebrate, and learn how we can make a positive impact on our environment," said Lars Davenport, Environmental Services Supervisor. "We hope to inspire sustainable habits that last long after the event."
Ventura Earth Day Festival is presented by the MERITO Foundation, in partnership with the City of Ventura, with support from The Port of Hueneme, Postmates, the Outdoor Equity Grant through AB 209 and California State Parks, and in-kind contributions from Open Water, Patagonia, The Refill Shoppe, Spiro Printing, Blue Ocean Productions, and Farm Fresh to You.
