Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Liu Yuxi Attends Senegal’s Independence Day Reception

On April 8, 2026, Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Liu Yuxi, upon invitation, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Senegal in China to celebrate Senegal's Independence Day.

Liu Yuxi congratulated Senegal on its 66th independence anniversary, stating that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Senegal comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Over the past decade, political mutual trust has continuously strengthened, practical cooperation has yielded rich results, and bilateral relations have reached the highest level in history, setting a model for solidarity and cooperation among Global South countries. China is willing to work with Senegal to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, make full use of the zero-tariff policy, firmly support each other, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and write a new chapter in bilateral friendship in the new era.

Ibrahima Sory Sylla stated that the close high-level exchanges between the two countries in recent years fully reflect the high level of bilateral relations. He thanked China for its valuable support to Senegal's economic and social development. Senegal regards China as a priority cooperation partner, and is willing to firmly support each other, align development strategies, and work together to continuously elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
