As part of the co-operative study model at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, we provided two 7.5-inch e-paper displays (12061155) for an innovative project in their innovation lab.
The aim was to develop a modern light alarm clock that combines functionality and design. The project comprises a large LED panel controlled by WLED software and an alarm clock unit with an ESP32 microcontroller that displays the time and menus on our e-paper display.
The entire system was developed independently by the students - from the electronics and software to the 3D-printed housing. With our display technology, we were able to make a small but important contribution to this successful project and at the same time show how versatile e-paper solutions can be used in smart applications.
