(LANSING, MICH) -- During National Life Insurance Awareness Month, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is reminding Michiganders that the Department is available to help answer questions and provide other assistance for those looking for more information about life insurance, including how to find and claim benefits under a lost policy.
"Life insurance can provide financial protection to people who depend on you when they need it most," said DIFS Director Anita Fox. "Life Insurance Awareness Month is a good opportunity for Michiganders to learn about life insurance and to work with a licensed insurance agent to make sure their current coverage meets their current needs and budget. DIFS offers free resources to help consumers make informed decisions and is available to answer questions along the way. You can reach DIFS by calling 877-999-6442, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by visiting Michigan.gov/DIFS."
