DGA Statement on Nebraska GOP Primary Results

DGA Statement on Nebraska GOP Primary Results

DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to Gov. Jim Pillen becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Nebraska:

"Governor Jim Pillen is one of the most unpopular Republican governors in the country because he's completely failing Nebraskans. Under Pillen's leadership, costs have skyrocketed, more Nebraskans than ever are set to lose healthcare thanks to the GOP budget law he praised, and the state went from a billion-dollar surplus to a $646 million deficit - forcing cuts to essential services Nebraskans rely on. He's also mired in scandal and under investigation by Lincoln Police over a no-bid contract handed out to a lobbyist with close ties to him, further proving that he can't be trusted to do what's right for the state. Nebraskans are ready for new leadership who will put them first."
