Hundreds of Toys Distributed to Local Families at Festive Holiday Event
Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles and Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica partner to spread holiday joy to over 300 community members
Culver City, CA - On Wednesday, December 17 a line of families waited excitedly outside The Jack & Cindy Jones Youth Center at the Mar Vista Gardens Boys & Girls Club. Inside had been transformed into a holiday wonderland, where kids would choose a new toy, enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate, and meet Santa. Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica (SMBGC) and the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) partnered to distribute toys to over 200 kids in the community through this event.
"This toy giveaway is a shining example of our community uniting for a common purpose: ensuring every child at Mar Vista Gardens feels the warmth, generosity, and true spirit of the holiday season," said HACLA President & CEO Lourdes Castro Ramirez. "We thank the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica for their partnership in bringing this wonderful celebration-complete with food, toys, and lasting memories-to our families."
In addition to toy distribution, the event offered an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the holiday season. Families chatted and kids laughed and played, enjoying moments of connection and joy.
"Our Clubs are a resource for families every day, but the holiday season offers such special opportunities to create magical memories for kids," said Brynja Seagren, Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica CEO. "Our partnership with HACLA exemplifies what's possible when we work together to support kids and families. I'm grateful for years of collaboration between our organizations."
This partnership between two community serving organizations showcases the powerful things that happen when we work together to invest in our neighbors.
