Media Advisory: Viva CalleSJ Rolls “Into The Valley” With a Brand-New South San Jose Route

Viva CalleSJ is San José's open streets celebration, transforming city streets into car-free community space where people can walk, bike, run, skate and play. There is no starting line, no finish line and no wrong way to Viva CalleSJ.

On Sunday, September 13, Viva CalleSJ will roll "Into the Valley," bringing the event to Council Districts 9 and 10 for the first time. The route will connect neighborhoods, parks and a piece of Santa Clara Valley's agricultural history.

Three Activity Hubs at Martial Cottle Park, De Anza Park and Cahalan Park will feature activities, entertainment and opportunities for the community to gather. Designated pit stops will also feature local businesses offering special activities, promotions and deals.

"Into the Valley" will showcase San José's creative community. South San José native and City of San José Creative Ambassador J. Duh is collaborating with Viva CalleSJ on the event merchandise design, while local artist Steven Quintero created the official event poster featuring elements inspired by the new route. Together We Create will add to the experience with live art demonstrations throughout the day.
