Pennington County DUI Courtwas established in 2013 as an alternative to prison for justice-involved persons dealing with substance use disorders and mental health disorders who are at a high likelihood to reoffend. The court offers intensive supervision, treatment for substance use and mental health, support services, and community-based resources to improve the overall wellbeing of the participants involved in the program.
Pennington County Drug Courtwas established in 2016 as an innovative approach to rehabilitating those substantially impacted by a substance use disorder or mental health disorder who are likely to be rearrested without intervention. This is a public health approach to justice reform in which treatment providers partner with probation, defense, prosecution, law enforcement and the judge to ensure individuals before the courts receive personalized and evidence-based treatment, ongoing support and recovery services.
