Denver (August 24, 2026) - The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the leading membership organization and trade association for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals, announced today the keynote speakers and topics for its largest national event, FPA SUMMIT 2026, formerly known as FPA Annual Conference, from November 9-11 at the Gaylord National Resort just outside of Washington, D.C.
As the conference ends on Veterans Day during the country's 250th anniversary, the event will include special military-related acknowledgments throughout, starting with opening keynote speaker Col. Nicole Malachowski, USAF (Ret.), the first woman Thunderbird pilot, a combat veteran, and a White House fellow and adviser. Additionally, at the close of the conference, the importance of pro bono financial planning, particularly for American servicemembers and veterans, will be highlighted.
The full slate of FPA SUMMIT 2026 keynote speakers includes:
"FPA SUMMIT was designed to address the specific needs of professionals across the financial planning spectrum from those just entering through those thinking about succession planning," said FPA Chief Executive Officer Dennis J. Moore, MBA, CFP®. "As the only series of industry conferences strictly dedicated to the profession of financial planning, our four national conferences provide opportunities for intensive focus, learning, and networking. We look forward to welcoming practitioners, academics, students, and partners to FPA SUMMIT this November."
On November 9, three pre-conference sessions will cover ethics, how to become a reporter's go-to source, and how to leverage the new, soon-to-be-released FPA PlannerSearch® in client relationships, respectively. The latter session will be headlined by a key partner in the revamped FPA PlannerSearch, Snappy Kraken's Robert Sofia. The first day will conclude with an opening reception at 5:00 p.m. ET.
Topics covered throughout the remainder of FPA SUMMIT 2026 include career development, succession planning, meaningful giving, long-term care planning, among others.
There will also be an honors reception for the newest recipients of FPA's prestigious awards, including the Montgomery-Warschauer Award recognizing top research published in the Journal of Financial Planning; the Power of Financial Planning Award honoring exemplary pro bono financial planning; the Heart of Financial Planning Award highlighting contributions to the financial planning community; and P.
