Vice President of Operations, Joseph Johnston, FACHE, FACMPE, MBA
Concord Hospital Health System (CHHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Johnston, FACHE, FACMPE, MBA, as vice president of operations, effective August 24, 2026. Johnston brings significant healthcare leadership experience spanning clinical practice and executive operations across a variety of healthcare settings. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Clinical Operations at the University of Vermont Health - Central Vermont Medical Center.
Johnston began his healthcare career as a radiation therapist.
"Joe brings an exceptional combination of clinical knowledge, operational expertise, and collaborative leadership," said CHHS's Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, William N. Dooley, PT, MBA. "Throughout the interview process, it became clear that his communication style, professionalism, and commitment to teamwork align closely with our organizational values. His experience leading complex healthcare operations will be a tremendous asset as we continue strengthening services across our health system."
In his role, Johnston is overseeing several key operational departments across CHHS, including inpatient nutrition services, laboratory services, pharmacy services, radiology, rehabilitation services, respiratory therapy, safety and emergency preparedness, security, and the Payson Center for Cancer Care.
