WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, announced a hearing titled Examining Biosecurity at the Intersection of AI and Biology.
"When it comes to the remarkable advances of AI and biotechnology, it is imperative that we look ahead to ensure these technologies are being used responsibly," said Chairmen Guthrie and Joyce. "This hearing plays a crucial oversight role in analyzing the risks and benefits arising from AI and synthetic biology, and we look forward to examining ways in which we can continue leading in the AI race, while at the same time, prioritizing and protecting American public health."
