Emergency Services Expansion update – April 4, 2025

Emergency Services Expansion update - April 4, 2025

April 4, 2025

With Zone Delta open and running smoothly and 18 additional rooms added to the Emergency Services Department, construction on the rest of the Emergency Services Expansion (ESE) project continues.

Construction update: Interior framing is roughly 80% complete in Zone Charlie, with gypsum wallboard actively being installed and above-ceiling support going up for exam room lights. In-wall mechanical, electrical, and plumbing are also underway.

Most of the ANMC hospital's east parking lot is fenced off for construction activities. In preparation for a new tower where the original Emergency Services Department one stood, footers and piers are being poured, and the perimeter strip footing is being formed.

Sump basins are being installed while waterproofing continues down the east side of the building.

Potential Operational Impacts: The North-South Corridor will shut down outside Zone Charlie from April 14 to April 18 (see map below). This is to replace ventilation and sprinkler piping.

Parking Update: Most of the ANMC Hospital's east parking lot is fenced off for construction activities. Day parking is no longer available in the ANMC hospital east lot, except for limited ADA-accessible parking. The remainder of available parking in this area is reserved for ESD patients.

Additional parking locations include the ANTHC Lodging at Tudor Centre Parking Garage (north of the hospital), Denali Parking Garage (east of the hospital), and Flattop Mountain Parking Garage (south of the hospital). There is a marked pedestrian path from the Denali Parking Garage for all foot traffic between the garage and the ANMC hospital.
