CUMD Executive Director Leigh Philibosian and John Bratsakis, President/CEO of the MD|DC Credit Union Association and Credit Unions for Kids Advisory Board member presented a check for $25,000 to Shelby Stallings from Children's National at the start of the golf classic. An additional $7,400 was raised throughout the day, bringing the event total to more than $32,000.

As the credit union industry's charity of choice, CMN Hospitals has received more than $150 million in support from credit unions nationwide over more than 25 years. Funds raised through the golf classic will support critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, and charitable care at two local CMN hospitals, Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, and Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore.

"We're grateful to our credit unions and business partners for their generous support," said John Bratsakis, President/CEO of the MD|DC Credit Union Association and Credit Unions for Kids Advisory Board member. "Through Children's Miracle Network hospitals, credit unions are helping change lives by supporting critical care for children and families while strengthening the communities we serve. It's a powerful example of the credit union movement making a real difference where it matters most."

The impact of that support is especially meaningful at Children's National Hospital, where 258,000 young patients received care in 2025.

"We are incredibly grateful for the credit union industry's long-term commitment to Children's Miracle Network hospitals," said Shelby Stallings, Assistant Director, Children's National Hospital Foundation. "The impact of that support cannot be overstated as every two minutes a family turns to Children's National for critical care. On behalf of our patients and their families, thank you for the unwavering support and for making miracles happen."

More than 40 credit unions and business partners sponsored the 2026 Charity Golf Classic, including SECU of Maryland as a lead sponsor.
