The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Lawhosted its inaugural swearing-in ceremony, celebrating several members of the May 2025 graduating class who have been admitted to practice law in the state of North Carolina.
The swearing-in took place on Friday, Oct. 10 in the Moot Courtroom in the Albert L. Turner Law Building.
The ceremony represents an important milestone in the law school's mission to prepare practice-ready attorneys committed to service and excellence within their communities.
Graduates from this class have been sworn in across North Carolina and other jurisdictions. The ceremony included those taking their oaths before The Honorable Patricia Timmons-Goodson, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina and former dean of NCCU School of Law.
"Crossing this threshold from student to attorney is more than a professional milestone, it is the start of a lifelong journey of service and purpose," said Interim Dean Donald Corbett. "Our graduates carry forward the proud legacy of NCCU Law and exemplify what it means to lead with excellence and make an impact in their communities."
