Rapp Announces $47,000 for Signage in Forest County

August 31, 2026

HARRISBURG - Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has issued a grant of nearly $47,500 to the Forest County Council of Governments (COG) for its wayfinding sign project.

The funding will be used to help the COG undertake a countywide project to establish a cohesive, comprehensive wayfinding system for increased visibility and awareness of local businesses, recreational assets and key destinations.

"Forest County is blessed with many destinations worth traveling to see," Rapp said. "In addition to helping people find their way, this project may also spur people traveling through our area to stop by our businesses and natural landmarks they may not have otherwise known about. In addition to helping our local economy, this grant funding will allow more people to see what an incredible place Forest County is."

This funding was awarded through DCED's Municipal Assistance Program, designed to help local governments cover the cost of expensive planning processes to help communities grow and thrive.
