In an interview published today with Vanity Fair, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles delivered a scathing assessment of Donald Trump's White House, and confirmed that "we know he's in the file," despite months of Trump calling the Epstein Files a "hoax."
Wiles went on to say that Trump "was on [Epstein's] plane…he's on the manifest. They were, you know, sort of young, single, whatever-I know it's a passé word but sort of young, single playboys together." She further derided Attorney General Pam Bondi for her handling of the files and said "there is no client list, and it sure as hell wasn't on her desk."
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer issued the following statement:
"It turns out even Donald Trump's chief of staff can't shield him from his Epstein nightmare. His own administration admitted that he and Epstein had deep personal ties and were even 'playboys together.' Trump has lied to the American people for months and called the Epstein scandal a 'hoax' countless times. Even as the deadline is approaching to release the files, Trump has yet to follow through on Americans' continued demands for accountability and justice for Epstein's victims. Trump's presidency has been a disaster, and now his closest allies are painting a portrait of an unrestrained president who cares only about protecting the well-connected."
Wiles confirmed that Trump has used the presidency for "score settling" with his political enemies and has an "alcoholic's personality." Wiles said of Trump's closest circle of sycophants that JD Vance is a "conspiracy theorist," Russ Vought is a "right-wing absolute zealot," and Elon Musk is an "avowed ketamine" user. And Wiles acknowledged that Trump's disastrous tariffs have been "more painful than I expected."
Just last week, Trump said about his chief of staff, "Do you know Susie Trump, sometimes referred to as Susie Wiles? Susie Trump. She's the great chief of staff … Look at Susie. Susie is the greatest."
