A4A Statement on U.S.-UK Trade Deal

A4A Statement on U.S.-UK Trade Deal

NEWS UPDATE |June 17, 2025

The following is attributable to Airlines for America (A4A):

U.S. airlines are pleased the Trump Administration has reached a trade deal with the UK government that embraced the 1979 Agreement on Trade in Civil Aircraft (ATCA) reciprocal zero-tariff policy. Commercial aviation is crucial to the United States economy, driving five percent of our GDP and supporting more than 10 million jobs. We encourage the Administration to follow this precedent in future bilateral agreements. The reciprocal zero-tariff policy has resulted in a trade surplus of an impressive $104 billion.
