Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tonille Crombie as General Manager Supply Chain, joining the co-operative's Leadership Team on 1 February 2027.
Crombie brings extensive experience, having built a career spanning some of New Zealand's leading food production, manufacturing and logistics businesses.
This includes her current role at Talley's Group Ltd, where she has been Group General Manager Procurement and Supply Chain since 2024. Prior to that, she was Chief Executive Officer of Hall's Cold Chain Logistics, where she led significant improvements in health and safety, revenue performance and technology systems during her three-year tenure.
Her career has also included senior leadership roles with Open Country Dairy, Amcor and Fonterra.
"Tonille's experience and expertise in supply chain management and driving performance in complex and fast-moving environments will be a huge asset for our co-op and the communities our stores serve," Foodstuffs South Island Chief Executive Mary Devine says.
"Just as importantly, she's a strong people leader who understands how to build engaged teams and create a culture where people can perform at their best."
Devine said Crombie's experience and perspective would help support the co-operative's ongoing focus on delivering for its family-owned stores and customers across the South Island.
"Our supply chain plays a critical role in keeping the South supplied with food and products people rely on. Tonille's operational expertise, strategic thinking and commitment to teamwork make her an excellent addition to our leadership team."
Crombie said she was excited by the opportunity to join Foodstuffs South Island and the prospect of returning to Christchurch with her family.
"Foodstuffs South Island has a strong reputation for supporting its family-owned stores, customers and communities. The opportunity to join a co-operative with such strong local roots was incredibly appealing.
"I've always believed great results come from clear direction, strong collaboration and empowered teams. I'm looking forward to the challenge of building on the great work already underway."
