TUCSON - Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) spent the week attending a series of events listening to constituents, touring facilities and honoring victories.
First, Ciscomani visited Shamrock Farms to see firsthand how this Arizona family business has grown from 20 cows in 1922 to over 10,000 today.
In 1967, Shamrock Farms became the number one dairy in Arizona, a title they held as they continued to grow throughout decades. In 2007, Shamrock Farms became the first and only local milk company to offer organic products to Arizona consumers. Now, they have a robust operation with more than 6,100 employees.
Fun fact: when Shamrock Farms started in the 1920s, a gallon of milk cost just 35 cents.
Next, Ciscomani joined the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber to discuss the H.R. 1 Working Families Tax Cut Actand how making the 2017 tax cuts permanent supports small businesses, families, and workers in Southern Arizona.
These conversations help Congressman Ciscomani better fight for Southeastern Arizonans in Washington.
Ciscomani then attended the Rockin' 4 Heroes Veteran Student Endowment at the University of Arizona - which was created to help veterans and/or Gold Star family members achieve their educational goals by providing financial aid beyond what the G.I. Bill provides. The Endowment provides support for academic and non-academic needs.
Congressman Ciscomani was honored to present a certificate to Blaze Smith, who will be the first steward of this fund!
To wrap up the week, Congressman Ciscomani visited Action Behavior Centers (ABC) in northwest Pima County. ABC is the largest provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services in the country. In Arizona, ABC currently operates 45 centers, with plans to open five additional centers by the end of 2025. Currently, they serve over 1,000 patients and employ over 1,700 Arizonans.
