Attorney General Clark and Secretary of State Copeland Hanzas Release Joint Statement on Reaffirming Vermont's Fair and Free Elections

Attorney General Charity Clark and Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas today released a joint statement in response to claims made by President Trump during a speech last night about the integrity of the nation's elections. In the speech, the President repeated his false claims about the 2020 election that have been investigated and disproven.

"Together, we want to reiterate that elections in Vermont-and the nation-are free, fair, accessible, and secure. Here in Vermont, protecting our democracy is a team effort. Our offices work closely with town clerks, justices of the peace, and other election administrators and volunteers to make sure every eligible Vermonter's vote is counted. We will continue to uphold the integrity of our elections to ensure that every Vermonter can access their fundamental right to the ballot."
