The Elgin Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station 2, 650 Big Timber Road.
The family-friendly event will feature demonstrations, safety information and hands-on activities for all ages. Highlights include a Kane County Sheriff K-9 demonstration, hazardous materials awareness information, fire extinguisher demonstrations, car seat checks provided by Advocate Aurora Health and information on the Elgin Fire and Police Explorers programs.
A series of live demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day, including a fire response at 11 a.m., a Fire Explorers demonstration at noon and a fire sprinkler demo at 1 p.m.
The open house offers residents an opportunity to connect with firefighters, learn about fire safety and enjoy activities with the community.
