"Organic is a marketing ploy. Organic is expensive and not accessible. Organic products have no proven impact on health." These are just some of the most common myths attached to the word organic. And while the organic movement continues to grow, several myths on organic agriculture and produce still persist.
On 21 January at 1 p.m. CET, IFOAM - Organics International will host a webinar that will address misinformation about organic and underscore the true meaning of the word. Here, speakers will talk about how organic practices create a real and positive impact on the environment, health, and welfare of those who grow our food.
As the global umbrella organisation for organic agriculture with a long history of standard development, advocacy, and research, IFOAM - Organics International is uniquely positioned to bring clarity, context, and evidence to this conversation.
IFOAM World Board member Julia Lernoud will moderate the discussion which will be participated by different voices from the organic sector:
During the 90-minute webinar, the speakers will each tackle a misconception about organic and debunk the myth based on scientific evidence or first-hand knowledge from the field.
This webinar aims to provide information and a better understanding of organic to consumers, policymakers and farmers.
Please note that the views and opinions expressed by the speakers do not necessarily reflect the views of IFOAM - Organics International.
