Don't miss the City of West Hollywood's Harvey Milk Day celebration featuring the 4th annual José Sarria Drag Pageant on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard. Harvey Milk was the first openly LGBTQ+ person to win political office in California in 1977. José Sarria helped pave the way for Harvey Milk's successful run for office by being the first openly gay man to run for office in the United States in 1961 and was a drag performer who founded the Imperial Court charitable LGBTQ+ organization. Each year, the City of West Hollywood celebrates the LGBTQ+ community through the arts with its WeHo Pride Arts Festival. Held as part of WeHo Pride, the Arts Festival will take place Saturday, May 23, 2026 and Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Village at Ed Gould Plaza, located at1125 N. McCadden Place in Los Angeles. The City of West Hollywood's free PickUp shuttle will stop at the WeHo Pride Arts Festival approximately every 30 minutes from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day of the Festival and continue running to all regular route stops along Santa Monica Boulevard from N. Guests may attend theatre, cabaret, mariachi, literary readings, film programming, and live model drawing sessions, while also exploring artist vendors and the visual art exhibit. Each day concludes with an extended signature program. Since its inception in 2007, the City's LGBTQ+ Arts Festival has showcased artists and storytellers who amplify LGBTQ+ pride through the arts.
All WeHo Pride Arts Festival events and workshops are free to attend. Some events are ticketed by advance RSVP, with ticketholders provided priority seating; RSVP is strongly encouraged. WeHo Pride Weekend will take place from Friday, June 5, 2026 through Sunday, June 7, 2026 in and around West Hollywood Park and Santa Monica Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic. The weekend will include the free-ticketed WeHo Pride Presents Friday Night at OUTLOUD Music Festival, as well as the paid-ticketed OUTLOUD Music Festival on Saturday and Sunday. There will be lots of free weekend programming: the WeHo Pride Street Fair, the Women's Freedom Festival, the Dyke March, and the iconic WeHo Pride Parade, along with community group and vendor booths along Santa Monica Boulevard and performances on two stages throughout the day.
