Italian-donated trucks now operating in Gaza under WFP

Italy continues to support the World Food Programme (WFP) with the aim of increasing food assistance to the population of Gaza and ensuring it reaches beneficiaries as quickly and as widely as possible, taking advantage of the window of opportunity created by the Trump Plan and the ceasefire.

The 15 trucks donated by Italy to the WFP as part of the partnership launched under the Food for Gaza initiative are already in operation, shuttling between Gaza and locations within the Strip. These vehicles are being used by the WFP to transport Italian aid, as well as items purchased by the United Nations with donor contributions, into the Strip for distribution.

Following Minister Tajani's instructions, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively working to collect and dispatch additional tonnes of aid to Gaza. A flight will depart from the UN base in Brindisi to transport the collected materials, while Italian diplomacy is concurrently assessing further measures to support the population and rehabilitate infrastructure in the Strip, to be implemented as soon as conditions permit effective operations in Gaza.
