The Alabama VMA (ALVMA) held its Emerald Coast Veterinary Conference from May 28-June 1 in Miramar Beach, Florida.
Distinguished Service Award
Dr. Bill BledsoeDr. Bill Bledsoe (Auburn '81), Camden. Dr. Bledsoe owns Camden Veterinary Clinic. A past president of the ALVMA, he served eight years on the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Veterinarian of the Year
Dr. Frances P. KendrickDr. Frances P. Kendrick (Auburn '92), Selma. A past president of the ALVMA and West Alabama VMA, Dr. Kendrick owns Valley Creek Veterinary Hospital in Selma.
Lay Person of the Year
Ruth "Darlene" StewartRuth "Darlene" Stewart, Mobile. Known for her expertise on Beagles, Stewart serves as a consultant on the health and genetics of the breed. She was honored for her role in initiating the National Beagle Club of America's Genetics Committee.
